Inside Out

I will admit that I really wanted to see this film from the moment I saw the first trailer a few months ago. Regardless of the fact that I don't have young children anymore; three college age kids; it didn't take much to get the whole family to go with me. We really enjoyed this film and thought that it was clever, original and the Pixar animation was exceptional. My only 'slight' compliant is that I would have liked to see more of the emotional characters in the parents heads - who were very funny. However the story is more about a girl named Riley, who is uprooted from her Midwest life when her father starts a new job in San Francisco. Things immediately start to go down hill when the house they move into in SF is small and dirty and the movers are delayed with their stuff.

Taken from RottenTomatoes: "Like all of us, Riley is guided by her emotions - Joy (Amy Poehler), Fear (Bill Hader), Anger (Lewis Black), Disgust (Mindy Kaling) and Sadness (Phyllis Smith). The emotions live in Headquarters, the control center inside Riley's mind, where they help advise her through everyday life. As Riley and her emotions struggle to adjust to a new life in San Francisco, turmoil ensues in Headquarters. Although Joy, Riley's main and most important emotion, tries to keep things positive, the emotions conflict on how best to navigate a new city, house and school."

A fun movie for the whole family with a wonderful cast. Extra kudos to Lewis Black who is spot on as Anger. Kids of all ages will really enjoy this film.
