WHAT IS A C.L.V.S.?

The National Court Reporters Association (NCRA) created the Certified Legal Video Specialist (CLVS) designation as a way for the top legal videographers to stand out in their field. The program sets and enforces standards for competency in the capture, utilization, and retention of legal video and promotes awareness of these standards within the legal marketplace. WHY SHOULD YOU HIRE A C.L.V.S.?

In addition to being an experienced videographer, one must study for, and have passed, both a written test and a practical exam that tests skill and knowledge of video equipment, legal procedure, and the proper handling of the video record.

A CLVS adheres to the 62 Standards for Video Depositions as set forth by the Certified Legal Video Specialist Council of the National Court Reporters Association.

Every three years, a CLVS is required to take a minimum of 10 hours of continuing education to stay current with the trends that encompass the combined fields of videography, court reporting, and the legal industry.
